Neglected

Hello all,

It has been a hot minute since i've posted anything on here. Probably because i haven't been doin much to my hair. I am so behind on filling yo all on what has been going on. The last time i posted something was when i was complaining about my hair being tangled. I've been fixed that problem, with the tangle teezer. which have been all over the net. the only problem i feel like im having right now is dryness. but i just wanted to check in.

Until Next time.

Tangled!

Lately I've been struggling with my hair and that's why i haven't blogged in a couple of weeks. The last time i blogged, i talked about how i wanted to eliminate my shedding problem with doing a black tea rinse. I don't think i did it right because i still deal with the shedding, and lately because of my shedding i haven't been able to style my hair the way i want because i become so frustrated. My hair becomes tangled when i try to separate it even after i "detangle". It sucks! So what i've been doin is wearing protective styles and wearing hats, and i'll probably do that for the rest of this winter and continue to use protective styles without the hat. :( I hope i can solve this problem soon. I will keep in touch with this obviously!

until next time!

Black Tea Rinse

Last night i finally bit the bullet and did a black tea rinse, i dont really know if it worked as far as prevention of shedding yet but i can say that i'll adopt it into my reggie even if it hasn't. For those who aren't familiar with a black tea rinse, its a rinse with black tea lol. The caffiene in the tea is known to help slow down or prevent the hair from shedding, it makes the hair stronger. Some people do coffee rinses, but i opted to do the black tea because im not too sure i want coffee in my hair, lol. I also read that people do black tea rinses to darken hair.

Why did i do this you might ask? Well I have a shedding problem, a big one at that. One of the main reasons why i keep my hair in protective styles is because my hair sheds so much I don't really like to wear it down much. I know that its natural for your hair to shed at least 50-100 hairs a day, but i also know of natural divas that have stopped shedding all together. I really don't care if my hair stops shedding completely, i just want to reduce the amount of hair that does shed.

Like i said i won't know if my hair has stopped/slowed down on the shedding because my hair is in a protective style right now, but what i did notice immediately was that my hair was softer, curl pattern was more defined, and my hair was darker. All of these are postives in my book!

How To Do A Black Tea Rinse (you don't need any fancy tea, regular lipton will do)

Well obviously you need tea, just like your going to make a cup of tea, but you want it strong. it all depends on the person on how much you want. Once you've made your tea detangle hair throughly and pour it over your head evenly, make sure you get the roots. After you've poured it all over your head apply your favorite conditioner and DC. Some people do it differently but this is how i learnt how to do it, and i dont see anything wrong with this method.

Natural Hair Fad?

Lately I've been noticing an abundance of natural ladies, whether its around the store, Internet and even campus. Is it me, or is it because I'm natural and embracing my curls that I'm noticing. Then i began to ask myself, is this some type of fad? I mean things like this happen all the time, but its rare that we see this much change in the African American community.

I was thinking, had any celebrities gone natural lately? YES Soloange did a "Big Chop" not to long ago and inspired many women to make the change. Also Chrisette Michele began to rock her natural curls recently, so is it these ladies that's changing so many minds? Or are we collectively becoming more aware of the extremities we are going to for our beauty? I really hope that natural hair doesn't turn into a fad, or fashion because it really is a change of lifestyle.
What do you all think? Im curious, will you go back to the creamy crack or continue to stay natural? When you get to feel bored with your hair what will you do?

New Inspiration!

maybe my new inspiration should be teyana taylor, she has a bangin body and beautiful hair. Some say its fake, but i dont care its gorgeous. Plus she has a cute style.

Updating Yall

Not much has been going on since ive taken my twists down. I've just been rocking a plain ol bun like back in the good ol days, but i can't keep doin it cus i dont want to get used to it. I think Imma do a cute style or something, switch things up a bit. But I'm doin a oil hot treatment right now cus the scalp is dry, plus i'm running out of shea butter, if i haven't already. Who wants to get it for my birthday/christmas?

Hello Hydration Review

I recently got a new conditioner after all my tresseme naturals ran out, and i had been hearing about hello hydration and how much everyone loved it, and i now see what all the hype has been about! THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!

My initial reaction to the stuff was wow its BLUE, and its not the usual conditioner consistency. It was thick, and did i mention it was blue? Lol, the smell is really coconuty which I'm not much of a fan but its something that i could get used to. When i started to put it in my hair i noticed how heavy it made my hair. I also noticed how much slick it gave my hair and how easy it was to put it.

I left it in for a while, and did a deep condition and rinsed it out of my hair. AMAZING! MY HAIR WAS RIDICULOUSLY SOFT, REALLY REALLY SOFT. I wish you all could feel it, its even soft days after i've done a deep condition.

It wasn't that expensive, it was about 5 bucks at walmart for the big 23 oz, and this should last me about two months. Unlike the tresseme i didn't have to put any addition oils or honey in it. Which was amazing!

Overall i think i've found my NEW STAPLE conditioner. I think i probably said that about the tresseme but i really mean it this time. yayyy for soft managable hair!

Fall/Winter Reggi

Its getting colder here in MS especially up here in starkville, a different stupid cold/hot then cold again weather. My hair gets really dry in the winter time which means i need to kick up the moisture level. I've never really taken care of my hair in its natural state while in the winter time so this is going to be an experience for me, as was the spring and summer. Usually what i would have done was straighten my hair more, which caused extra damage. So what I'm going to start incorportating into my weekly regimen is hot oil treatments, this will help seal that moisture that i need and hopefully my hair will be less dry. I'll let you know how this works. So far my hair hasn't been extremly dry, but then again it hasn't been really cold. Also i plan on wearing alot of hats, hopefully my hair won't suffer any damage from that either. This fall/winter will be a trial for me to see what works. Coming up in Jan will be my one year nappy-versary. I know i've been natural all my life, but i see this year as me embracing my natural curls and retaining the grow and health that i've always wanted... So that's why im calling it my nappy-versary lol..

until next time ladies/gents? :)

Mini Wal*Mart Haul

EVOO! Great for hot oil treatments and everything else, i haven't done a hot oil treatment in a long time, and EVOO is good and cheap unlike other pure oils that can be expensive. this can be found in any grocery store.
PhillyDiva on YT, always talks about blue magic organics and this is one of the products! its a non greasy formula, leave in conditioner. i'm excited to try it, although it does have mineral oil and petrolatum. there is nothing wrong with that right? well some people might have a problem with it, but i plan on putting some castor oil in it so it wont be as drying.
Some good ol' baking soda! I plan on using this to exfoliate my face and cleanse my scalp. This is the first time, i'll be using this so im excited.

Herbal Essences, Reconditioning Shampoo for dry/damaged hair. I was looking for a clarifying shampoo, but couldn't find any so i opted on this one. I haven't heard anything about it, so i guess i'll do a review. Herbal Essences has good products and i could always put honey or castor oil in it to jazz it up.
I've heard great things about this conditioner and i wanted to try it out. I was looking for conditioner with a lot in it because i use conditiner like no other. This is going to last me a good two months. Just like the Tresseme naturals. I'm trying to see which one i like better to use as a staple. I'm also trying to see which shampoo works for me too!.
That's about all ladies and gents i didn't get too much just the things that i needed/wanted. :)
until next time!
